Demonstration staged

KRISHNAGIRI: Students, parents of Panniyandi community staged a demonstration in front of the Revenue Divisional Office on Monday demanding community certificate.

The demonstration was led by R. Mayandi, District Secretary, Panniyandi Community Welfare Association. Office-bearers of the association said that the revenue officials are denying community certificates to students belonging to Panniyandi Community as they come under Scheduled Castes. More than 50 students, parents and members of the association staged the demonstration with their eyes covered with black clothes and lit candles.
