Tension at Manikeswari Nagar

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Tension prevailed at Manikeswari Nagar adjacent to Osmania University on Tuesday following the death of a local, B. Narsimha, 50, who was reportedly injured in police lathi-charge on Monday.

Family members and relatives of the victim charged that police were responsible for the death of Narsimha. “They beat up him mercilessly while controlling the stone-pelting mobs though he was not connected with the incident,” they alleged.

A local leader Hari said that Narsimha suffered bruises in the lathi-charge. He developed complications on Tuesday morning apparently due to some internal injuries and died while being shifted to Gandhi Hospital. Police teams were deployed in the area to meet any eventuality.
