Suvarna Vidhana Soudha to be ready by January 2011

Shaping up: Work on the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha at Halga-Bastwad near Belgaum is in progress.

Belgaum: Work on the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha is expected to end by early January 2011, according to B.G. Shirke Construction Technology, Pune, which is executing the work.

This commitment was made during an inspection of work on the project at Halga-Bastwad by Public Works Minister C.M. Udasi here on Friday.

The construction work, which started in July, will be completed by January 9, 2011. Excavation work has been completed.

Mr. Udasi said that the Government was keen on completing the project as per schedule so that it could hold winter sessions of the legislature in Belgaum.

He said that there was no dearth of funds and a grant of Rs. 100 crore had been made available for the project by the Government.
