Maoists attack liquor manufacturing unit

BERHAMPUR: Suspected Maoists burnt down a licensed country liquor manufacturing unit at Govindpur in Sorada block of Ganjam district. They overpowered a person who was guarding the unit and lit it. This unit was defunct since past two months. It was selling country liquor in pouches procured from other manufacturing units. The miscreants also left a poster at the spot through which they threatened a group alleged timber mafia of the area. Police is investigating whether it was an act of Maoist or it was handiwork of some local miscreants due to dispute between liquor lobbies of the area.
