NAGAPATTINAM: The bi-monthly meeting of the Consumer Protection Committee was held here on Friday. The Committee met under A. Annadurai, District Revenue Officer, to discuss various issues that warranted attention from the district administration. The meeting discussed the recurring demand of people for increasing the frequency of buses to Keezhvelur during mornings and evenings. Further, the members called for stringent enforcement of notified vehicular norms, especially of those vehicles ferrying school children. They also called for action against overloaded autorickshaws, and sought for action to repair water-logged areas to prevent spread of water-borne diseases. Mr. Annadurai assured administrative action of respective departments along with initiatives to usher in a greening drive in the district.
