PUDUCHERRY: The National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme, Department of Health, Government of Puducherry conducted an awareness campaign for school students, on dengue and chikungunya on Monday. It explained the measures to prevent mosquito breeding, protection from mosquito bites, symptoms of dengue and chikungunya and need to seek medical help. An awareness quiz contest was also held. Prizes were distributed to the winners. Assistant Director (Malaria) N. Nilamani, Assistant Entomologist (Malaria) J. Mary Jacintha Anandou and Technical Assistant (Malaria) G. Sivasangarane spoke, a release said.
