Three suspected militants killed in Manipur

IMPHAL: In two separate incidents, three suspected militants were gunned down by security forces and one rival militant group in Manipur on Sunday night. In the exchange of fire during a chance encounter between a joint force of Gorkha Rifles and police commandos and suspected militants in Bishnupur district, one militant was killed while three others escaped.

In another incident in Chandel district bordering Myanmar, personnel of the 29 Assam Rifles gunned down one militant suspected to be a member of the People’s Liberation Army. Meanwhile, a third militant was killed during heavy exchange of fire between two rival Kuki militant groups in Senapati district.
