Mahadayi: all-party meet to be called

HUBLI: Water Resources Minister Basavaraj Bommai has said that an all party meeting will be convened after December 21 following the decision of the Centre to set up the Mahadayi Water Disputes Tribunal.

Mr. Bommai told presspersons here on Wednesday that the State Government would take a stand on the issue after the meeting. An all-party delegation would go to New Delhi to impress upon the Prime Minister and the Union Water Resources Minister that the interests of the State should be safeguarded.

Mr. Bommai said he would go to New Delhi next week to discuss with senior lawyers representing State in the Supreme Court.
