HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam senior leaders, MPs, MLAs and MLCs belonging to Andhra and Rayalaseema launched their ‘bus yatra’ from Tirupati to take to the people the message of unified State. The “Samaikya Andhra Sadhana Yatra”, began with senior leaders, K.E. Krishnamurthy, Y. Ramakrishnudu, G. Muddukrishnama Naidu, B. Gopalakrishna Reddy and legislators garlanding the statues of Potti Sriramulu first near Ruia Hospital and then that of N.T. Rama Rao. Chants of “Jai Samaikya Andhra” rent the air, as their ‘yatra’ in a chartered bus moved forward after senior leaders and legislators addressed the gathering. Mr. Muddukrishnama Naidu blamed the Congress and the Centre for creating confusion among people by their unilateral midnight announcement. The legislators’ tour would expose Congress and take the slogan of “No to Telangana and yes to integrated State” to the people. A TDP spokesman said the 11-day yatra would travel through Chittoor, Anantapur, Kurnool, Kadapa, Nellore, Prakasam, Guntur, Krishna, West and East Godavari, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and culminate at Srikakulam on December 28. Even as the ‘yatra’ began, TDP MLAs of Telangana took exception and demanded disciplinary action against them, alleging there was no permission from the party for launching such a tour. Some of them met party president N. Chandrababu Naidu at his residence here late in the evening.
