Awards distributed
KRISHNAGIRI: Thirty rural artists were given away awards by Collector V.K. Shanmugam at the music festival for the religious harmony here on Thursday.
Mr. Shanmugam said the awards were not given to the artists for the last four years.
Apart from the award, they were also given Rs. 2,000 cash and a certificate of merit.
A total of 478 folklore artists were given identity cards from the Tamil Nadu Folklore Artists Welfare Board.
The Collector also gave away certificates to 16 children who completed music courses at the District Music School.
