It will help record movement of goods Dealers can register on website Tirupur: Commercial Taxes Deputy Commissioner K. Munnusamy called upon the hosiery manufacturers in the Tirupur cluster to use more the fast track clearance system (FTCS) introduced by the department in order to facilitate speedier movement of goods through check posts. “The FTCS, launched as part of the department’s e-governance initiative, will help the dealers to record the goods movement details in advance so that delays at the check posts can be avoided considerably,” he said. At present, there are 11 major check posts and 18 minor check posts in the State. Mr. Munnusamy was speaking at a awareness programme organised by the department to popularise ‘FTCS’ among apparel manufacturers here on Tuesday, since only a miniscule section of entrepreneurs were now using the service owing to lack of awareness of its benefits. Explaining its salient features, he said that the dealers could register themselves for the clearance of goods under the FTCS through the facility posted on the department’s website. The dealer could declare online the details pertaining to goods, vehicle used for carrying it and bills before the actual transport of goods itself. “They can obtain the print out of the acknowledgement generated online so that it can be produced at the separate counter set up at the check posts for the purpose, for speedier crossing with the goods into other states,” he said.
