VIRUDHUNAGAR: Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Dinsha J. Patel, will inaugurate five common facility centres for hand-made matches here on January 10 next.

In a statement issued here on Friday, the Virudhunagar MP, B. Manicka Tagore, said that he had invited the Minister to inaugurate the facilities at Virudhunagar, Sattur, Srivilliputtur (all in Virudhunagar district) and at Kovilpatti and Kazhugumalai (in Tuticorin district).

The cluster development programme is aimed at quality products, reducing production cost and tackling impact of the global economic recession by providing employment opportunity to the youths, Mr. Tagore said.

While the Centre is giving 75 per cent grant, the State is providing 10 per cent grant. Members of the clusters should make a contribution of 10 per cent and the remaining five per cent will come as bank loan.
