Man killed in front of son

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: A lathe machine worker returning home on bike along with his eight-year-old son was murdered even as the latter watched in horror at Subhashnagar pipeline road in Jeedimetla on Thursday night.

Syed Feroz, 32, started from the factory to his house in Subhashnagar on his bike along with his son, Md. Musahid, around 9 p.m. “The shocked boy could not tell exactly how many attackers were there but a group of men intercepted the two-wheeler in the darkness,” Jeedimetla Inspector A. Gangaram told reporters.

The assailants started beating up Feroz. The scared boy sitting pillion jumped off the bike and stood in a corner. Suddenly, one of them whipped out a knife, slit Feroz’s throat while others held him and fled as he collapsed on the ground.

The boy ran away on seeing this. Some commuters passing by the road alerted the police after finding Feroz lying dead on the roadside.
