Missing IPL would hurt Pakistani players: Akram

Lahore: Pace legend Wasim Akram feels if Pakistani players are not able to appear in the next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), it will compromise their preparations for the Twenty20 World Cup in the West Indies.

“If our players do not play in the IPL, for whatever reason, it is not only a great loss to them in financial terms but also in cricketing terms,” Akram said.

He said since the team had not had much exposure in recent times, it was imperative it plays in the IPL against quality international players before the World Cup. — PTI
