New collection of tiles unveiled

KOCHI: H&R Johnson has unveiled two latest collection of tiles — Marbonite colours and Atlas collections — in Kochi. Vijay Aggarwal, managing director, said the company had made a foray into modular kitchens recently with an exclusive store in Thiruvananthapuram. — Special Correspondent

Volkswagen launches two new vehicles

KOCHI: Automobile manufacturer Volkswagen has introduced two new vehicles — New Beetle and Touareg — in Kochi. They are priced Rs.20.45 lakh and Rs.51.85 lakh, respectively, ex-showroom in Kochi. The New Beetle has anti-lock braking system, electronic stabilisation programme. Touareg is a sports utility vehicle, designed for travel to hill regions. The company sold 450 vehicles of the two existing models, Passat and Jetta, in Kerala market, within a year, said Sabu Johnny, managing director, EVM Motors, which represents Volkswagen Kochi. The company will open its second outlet in the State in Thiruvananthapuram next month, said Biju Gopalakrishnan, general manager, Operations, EVM Motors. — Special Correspondent

Renovated showroom of Joyalukkas opened

KOCHI: Joyalukkas, jewellery retailer, opened its fully refurbished showroom here recently. Actor Rima Kallingal inaugurated the renovated showroom at High Court Junction. Dominic Presentation, MLA, lighted the lamp. Joy Alukkas, chairman, Joyalukkas Group; Rolf Walter; P.P Jose, general manager, Joyalukkas Group; and P.D Jose, general manager-gold, Joyalukkas Group, were present, a release says. — Special Correspondent

New products launched

KOCHI: Amalgam Specialty Foods India Pvt. Ltd. (ASFL), a subsidiary of Amalgam Enterprises, has launched a range of add-on ingredients called KEYA – Herbs, Seasonings and Spices. Among the flavours available are basil, oregano and parsley within the range of herbs; cardamom powder, chilli flakes and cinnamon powder among the spices and Italian, Chinese and salad seasonings among the range of seasonings. The unique aspect of these ingredients is that they are all freeze dried to keep them close to fresh and available in ready to use flip-top bottles priced between Rs.65 to Rs.85 each

Control prices: KMPA

KOCHI: The Kerala Master Printers’ Association (KMPA) has demanded steps to control the spiralling prices of offset aluminium plates. The association said manufacturers were misusing the anti-dumping laws to prevent import of offset plates. It requested the government and the Director-General of Safeguards to remove the ban on import of plates, P. Chander, president of the All-India Federation of Master Printers, said at the annual general body meeting of the KMPA here. — Special Correspondent
