TIMELY: Chairman of Mayan Constructions T.T. Ramesh Raja handing over marriage assistance to a girl at Palayamkottai on Sunday. — TIRUNELVELI: Distribution of welfare assistance to AIDS victims, leprosy patients, orphans, destitute women, and physically challenged children marked the function organised at Palayamkottai on Sunday, the eighth death anniversary of Mother Teresa. Disbursal of medical assistance to the children of fifty AIDS patients, rice to families of 100 leprosy patients, clothes to 100 orphan children, school uniforms to one hundred physically challenged children, sewing machines to six poor families, marriage assistance of Rs. 10,000 to a deprived girl, clothes to 100 AIDS victims, furniture to St. Joseph’s Girls Higher Secondary School and banquet to 1,000 were the highlight of the function. CSI Bishop of Tirunelveli Diocese Most Rev. J.J. Christodoss, chairman of Mayan Constructions T.T. Ramesh Raja, Rev. Fr. Kumar SJ, treasurer, St. Xavier’s Educational Institutions, Palayamkottai, Christopher, proprietor of Fatima Car Jewels, L. Xavier Rajan, organiser of the function, and others spoke.
