Tackling malnutrition
Malnutrition has its root in social inequalities prevailing in the developing countries. While it has long been recognised as a consequence of poverty, it is increasingly clear that it is also a cause. Under nutrition is not only a ‘silent emergency’ but a largely invisible one. There is a need to reduce the global toll of severe and moderate under-nutrition.

Rename Warangal NIT
The Regional Engineering Colleges were re-christened as National Institute of Technologies. Few of them have been renamed based on historical importance of the locations, e.g. NIT at Allahabad was named after Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology. Similarly, the institute at Warangal, the place that was ruled by Kakatiya dynasty may be named after Rani Rudrama Devi of the era.
