“Congress, Rao will not be forgiven”

Special Correspondent

LUCKNOW: The Congress and the former Prime Minister, P.V. Narasimha Rao, would not be forgiven for their role in the demolition of the Babri Masjid and the former Prime Minister, A.B. Vajpayee, should have been given notice to appear before the Liberhan Commission, All-India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) assistant secretary-general and spokesman Maulana Abdul Rahim Qureishi said here.

Mr. Vajpayee was among the 68 persons held “culpable” for the demolition of the mosque by the Commission, he said.

He told journalists that Mr. Vajpayee, on technical grounds, should have been summoned by the Commission.

The process was not followed by it.

In fact, it overlooked the judicial process before naming Mr. Vajpayee as one of the persons responsible for the demolition, Maulana Qureishi said.
