The award’s citation states that lakhs of people are being benefited by the scheme HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K. Rosaiah has congratulated the Rajiv Arogyasri Healthcare Trust for winning ‘The Manthan Award-South Asia 2009’ under e-health category. The Trust’s CEO Babu A. received the award in New Delhi on Saturday. Mr. Rosaiah said Arogyasri Health Insurance Scheme had been acclaimed as the most successful and unique programme for poor and low income people. Many States evinced keen interest and want to replicate the scheme. Recognising the capabilities of the ICT project, Arogyasri Health Insurance Scheme was given the Manthan award, according to a press release from the Chief Minister’s Office here on Monday. The award’s citation stated that lakhs of people were being benefited by the scheme and it was one of the largest such schemes ever undertaken by a State government. The award seeks to recognise the best practices in e-content and creativity in South Asia. It was launched in 2004 by Digital Empowerment Foundation in partnership with World Summit Award of Information Technology and other stakeholders.
