Doctors from private hospitals asked to serve the poor

SALEM: Agriculture Minister Veerapandi S Arumgam has urged the doctors from private nursing homes and hospitals to render their services to the poor and needy with commitment.

Participating in a seminar in which he reviewed the performance of private nursing homes and hospitals, which have been brought under the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme, the Minister said that 24 hospitals had been identified under the scheme in Salem district only to help the poor patients.

Commitment

“They must treat the patients immediately and with commitment,” he said and pointed out that 1,649 patients had already been operated for which the State had spent a sum of Rs. 6.72 crore.

He asked the doctors to work hard for the welfare of the State and its citizens.

Mayor J Rekha Priyadarshini presided over the function.

Sureshkumar, Corporation Commissioner Dr. K S Palaniswamy, Managing Director, Kurinji Hospital Dr. Jayaraman, Vinayaka Mission’s Hospital Dr. Ezhil Venthan, Dr. Suman (Kamala Hospitals), Dr. Shankar (Nathan Hospital), Dr. Daniel (Saravana Hospital), Dr. Chellappa and Dr. Punithavathy Chellappa (Chellappa Hospital) and Dr. Preeti (Lotus Eye Care Hospital) attended.
