VISAKHAPATNAM: “Create people not for now, but for the next decade.” This was the advice given to the faculty members and teachers by U.S.-based trainer Krish Dhanam. Speaking at a seminar on ‘Changing trends in education’ organised for faculty members at the Integral Institute of Advanced Management (IIAM) here on Tuesday, he said, “The world does not need people with knowledge, but it needs people with wisdom and the colleges and teachers are responsible for dishing out such products.” Born and bred in Visakhapatnam, Mr. Krish Dhanam moved to the U.S. in the early 1990s and over the years established himself as an expert in human engineering and development. The trainer urged the teachers to constantly upgrade themselves with cutting-edge teaching tools and methodologies. Global trendsTalking on the global teaching trends, he said, “Good teachers should teach the students to compete globally, they should communicate and counsel well the students, make them learn the subject without the burden of cultural boundaries and teach them to fall in love with the concept of ‘why’ and not ‘how’.” Secretary and correspondent of IIAM S.P. Ravindra and chairman of TSR and TBK College T. Balaramakrishna were present.
