VISAKHAPATNAM: The CITU-affiliated Steel Employees’ Union staged a maha dharna in front of the administrative building of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant on Tuesday demanding 24 per cent minimum guaranteed benefit (MGB) and 46 per cent fringe benefit to the VSP workers. Activists from TNTUC, DITU, USE, VSMS and VUSS also took part in the daylong dharna while other unions abstained. When the Visakha Steel Workers Union (VSWU) gave the call for one-day strike on November 4, all the unions supported it.
