Functioning of eSeva centres to be toned up

VISAKHAPATNAM: Efforts will be made to tone up the functioning of eSeva centres of the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation.

A coordination meeting will be arranged after discussing the issue with the Joint Collector, Municipal Commissioner B. Sreedhar has said.

The measures contemplated include increasing the counters at the eSeva centres, special counters for property tax payment, working on holidays etc. Besides, the ‘Saukaryam’ centre at GVMC office would be improved.

The Commissioner said a drive would be launched to realise water tax from defaulters.

Though water supply was cut to the defaulters, depending upon borewells they were not paying up the dues and action would be taken against them under Water, Land and Trees Act.

While patch work on roads wherever underground drainage was completed had been taken up, steps for relaying the roads would also be taken up soon.

Mr. Sridhar asked Additional Commissioner S. Krishna Murthy to submit a regular report on the action taken on the grievances received every Monday. Also, the status on the grievances should be informed to the respective complainants. This Monday, 67 grievances were received and a majority pertained to City Planning wing about encroachments and individual complaints.
