Take Shopian case to ICJ, Kashmir Bar urges Pakistan

Shujaat Bukhari

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Bar Association on Wednesday asked Pakistan to take up the issue of alleged rape and murder of two women in Shopian with the International Court of Justice (ICJ) at The Hague. It alleged that the Government of India had failed to deliver justice.

Talking to journalists, its general secretary G.N. Shaheen said Pakistan was under obligation to take up the issue as “it is party to the Kashmir dispute.”

Suspend work

Lawyers across Kashmir on Wednesday suspended work against the alleged cover-up in the Shopian case by the CBI and to show solidarity with Shopian lawyers, who were allegedly framed by the CBI for “fabricating evidence to cause injury to security forces.”
