It begins with a lot of fanfare Revellers to be served with the best of season’s sea food
Treat for revellers: Natasha Singh from Hyderabad who designed the set for the musical carnival at Vihar, Rushikonda, in the city on Thursday. VISAKHAPATNAM: It appeared straight from the sets of a film. The mega musical carnival organised by Vihar in association with Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation started on Thursday with a lot of fanfare. The creatively designed set was one of the unique features of the carnival. Based on the theme of a ‘ship in the bottle’, various props and installations inspired by different models of ships and its accessories were used intricately to render the theme. Designed by Natasha Singh from Hyderabad, the carnival features a separate dance floor, DJ console, lip-smacking delicacies at the food counter and a unique private party space inside a boat, which is one of the highlights of the set. There is a section of flea market that will feature clothes, accessories and articles for sale. “This is one of the best settings in the country with the lush green hills on one side and a breathtaking view of the sea below. And the specially designed set has added a distinct mark to create a carnival atmosphere,” said Natasha Singh. The organisers plan to serve the revellers with the best of season’s sea food and exotic cocktails with mix of tender cocos and fresh fruit concoctions. Featuring some of the finest talents of the country in the electronic dance music scene, the music carnival that will go till December 31 promises to give the club revellers of the city a treat of all the modern sounds in a serene picturesque venue of Vihar. Unique concept“This is a very unique concept wherein we have created a carnival-like ambience with music, food and stalls for complete entertainment. We are expecting a good response during the week-long carnival,” said Seshagiri Mantri of Vihar, Rushikonda. The music carnival started with DJ Murthovic from Hyderabad playing deep, tech house and techno on the first day of the festival. The following days will feature Deaf Bass Twins from Delhi, DJ Nasha and Priyanjana from Goa and Mumbai, DJ Vikk of MTV Roadies 5.0 fame, DJ B.E.P. from Mumbai. Hip hop, club commercial and Bollywood and house music with DJ Rahul will set the dance floor on December 31.
