TAMBARAM: Personnel of the Central Crime Branch of Chennai Suburban Police have arrested a 36-year-old man on charges of cheating a group of youth hailing from Andhra Pradesh of Rs.8 lakh after promising them jobs in Dubai.
A press release said Mohammed Faizal (21) from Vishakapatnam lodged a complaint that Mohammed Noorullah (36) of Mangadu had assured to get youths lucrative jobs in Dubai and also gave them a visa and related documents.
Noorullah had told them that if he was unable to send them to Dubai before Christmas, he would return twice the amount that he had collected.
Fake visas
Investigations revealed that the man had collected money from 60 youths of Vishakapatnam and the visas were fake.
On realising that they had been cheated, the youth approached them, police added.
