Additional forces deployed in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR: Sensing trouble in Karimnagar district following the deadline announced by the Telangana political Joint Action Committee demanding Telangana statehood by Monday, the Karimnagar district police have beefed up security and additional police forces have been deployed in the region.

Already, the district police are using the services of CRPF and APSP police personnel in the bandobust duties. About eight platoons of Maharashtra State special police have arrived in Karimnagar district on Saturday. Besides, additional APSP platoons would also arrive by Monday evening, police sources said.

The police said that they had already imposed Section 144 and Section 30 Police Act in the district. The police had opened several check posts and posted police pickets at 20 vital installations. The police have also intensified their night patrolling .
