Bangalore: Meghana (4) died after she was hit by a bus in front of the BDA Complex at Neelasandra in Ashok Nagar traffic police limits on Saturday. The police said Meghana was crossing the road in front of the complex along with her father, Mallikarjun, when the accident occurred. Meghana was rushed to St. Philomena’s Hospital where she died. Tension prevailed in front of the hospital for some time when the relatives of the girl protested alleging that she died because of negligence on the part of the doctors. The police said Mallikarjun, a cab driver, had taken his children Rahul (6), Shwetha (2) and Meghana to a doctor as Rahul was unwell. The accident occurred while they were returning home when Mallikarjun was crossing the road along with his children to buy ice cream. AbductedA 48-year-old realtor was allegedly abducted from a bar in Hennur on December 22. But the incident was brought to the notice of the police on Friday. The police said they had launched an investigation. The police gave the name of the realtor as B.M. Muniraju of Hennur. His wife Vanajakshi had lodged a complaint stating that Muniraju went to a bar in Hennur on the night of December 22 when he was allegedly abducted. According to Vanajakshi, the abductors were demanding that they be paid Rs. 25 lakh for the release of Muniraju, the police said. SuicideA newly married woman committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in her house at T. Begur Layout in Electronics City police station limits on Friday night. The police gave the name of the deceased as Jyotsna Peeju (24). According to her relatives, Jyotsna’s husband Peeju allegedly had an affair with a woman. Unable to bear this, Jyotsna took the extreme step. Jyotsna hailed from Kannur in Kerala. She married Peeju, a private company employee, four months ago. ArrestedFive persons have been arrested in connection with a murder case reported in Electronics City police limits on December 16. Mohan Reddy alias Anil (27) was found murdered in his car on Mylasandra Main Road. The police gave the names of the arrested as S. Mohan Raju Reddy (29) of Bhovi Colony, Harish Reddy (30) of 4th Cross, Begur Main Road, V. Shekar Reddy (45) of Hosaroad in Naganathapur, M. Ambarish alias Ambi (27) and V. Ramachandra (32) of Janatha Colony at Naganathapur.
