Public hearing on NH 47 widening works

Coimbatore: District Collector P. Umanath will preside over a public hearing to be held at SRS Kalyana Mandapam on Kalangal Road in Sulur at 10 a.m. on December 30.

The public hearing is aimed at eliciting public opinion on widening of National Highway Number 47 from Chengapalli to Walayar measuring 82.4 km.

A release from Dr. Umanath said that National Highways Authority of India has decided to widen the strength of the national highway into a six-lane and four-lane road under the Design, Build, Fund and Operate and then convert it into Build Operate Transfer basis.

Those wanting to record their opinions in writing besides voicing it at the public hearing could send the same to District Environmental Engineer, J. Kabila Towers, Third Floor, 266 – Mettuppalayam Road, Coimbatore -43 before December 30, the press release adds.
