Pratibha Patil arrives in Kochi on 2-day visit

KOCHI: President Pratibha Patil arrived here by a special aircraft from the Agatti Island in Lakshadweep on Sunday on a two-day visit.

At the Naval Air Station ‘Garuda’ in the Southern Naval Command, a host of dignitaries including Governor R.S. Gavai, Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan, Mayor Mercy Williams, District Collector M. Beena, Director- General of Police Jacob Punnoose and Vice-Admiral K.N. Sushil, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Naval Command, accorded the President a warm welcome as she got down from the special AN-32 aircraft of the Indian Air Force that landed at 11.05 a.m.
