Mysore: A record 25,000 tourists visited Amba Vilas Palace, popularly known as Mysore Palace, here on Saturday. The visitors’ turnout on a single day is said to be highest in the history of the palace. “We checked the previous visitors’ records and noticed that Saturday’s turnout was indeed a record. Even on Friday, the visitors’ number touched 20,000. This is first time that so many tourists visited the palace during the year-end,” said P.V. Awaradi, Deputy Director of Mysore Palace Board. A significant number of foreign tourists have come to Mysore. On an average 300 to 400 foreign tourists have visited the palace in the past few days, he said. According to sources, 40,000 tourists visited Brindavan Gardens near Mysore on Friday. On Saturday also almost an equal number are said to have visited the place.
