Collector reviews arrangements

Coimbatore: District Collector P. Umanath along with a team of officials reviewed arrangements made for the free distribution of saris and dhotis to the poor and needy for the ensuing Pongal festival. Officials have planned to have the free sari and dhoti distribution done from January 1 to 10. The arrangements for distribution in taluk wise from the revenue side and the police bandobust arrangements were reviewed. In Coimbatore District, it had been planned to distribute 5,00,444 dhoties and 5,20,562 saris.

District Revenue Officer S. Murthy also attended the meeting.
