VIJAYAWADA: Development of Andhra Pradesh has come to a standstill since the death of former Chief Minister Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy with the State facing some severe problems, Minister for Major Industries Kanna Lakshminaryana has said. Participating in the golden jubilee celebrations of Vijayawada Iron and Hardware Merchants’ Association at the Iron Complex in Bhavanipuram here on Sunday the Minister said that Andhra Pradesh was among the top in iron, petrochemical and pharmaceutical production in the country.

The discovery of fresh reservoirs in the Krishna-Godavari Basin would have expedited the progress of the state, but for the recent problems, he said. MLAs Malladi Vishnu, Yelamanchili Ravi and Vellampalli Srinivas, Mayor M.V.Ratna Bindu, MLC Ilapuram Venkaiah former Minister Devineni Rajsekhar and former MLA K.Subba Raju participated in the programme.
