Veteran character artiste passes away

HYDERABAD: Narra Venkateswara Rao, 62, veteran of 550 films and 40 television serials, passed away here on Sunday.

While his last film was Dasari Narayana Rao’s ‘Mestry’, his debut was in the film ‘Mallela Manasulu’. He however shot into limelight with ‘Neti Bharatam’ in which he essayed the role of politician to aplomb.

The Movie Artistes Association regretted the death of Venkateswara Rao and said he would be remembered for a long time to come for his character roles.
