Thomas Isaac has said that the Muziris heritage circuit will be thrown open to the tourists before next Onam. Addressing a workshop on Muziris project here on Monday, the Minister said that a road-canal development project, costing Rs.17 crore, would be implemented in the first phase. “Tender procedures have been started for the road works, which is estimated to cost Rs.7 crore. Design workshop“Research panels have already shortlisted the historical, political and social events; artefacts; paintings; and documents to be displayed at the museums. A core committee will finalise the list,” Mr. Isaac said. A design workshop will be held in January to make a plan about how to display the items. A 120-member selected team from various panchayats and municipality under the project will collect the heritage items. Education Minister M.A. Baby said that the Muziris heritage project, which would showcase the life and times of the ancient port town, would be an educational experience for the new generation.
