ALAPPUZHA: A 45-year-old ex-serviceman, Rajasekharan Pillai, died after he suffered a cardiac arrest during a fitness test conducted as part of the Home Guard recruitment drive here on Wednesday. Running testAccording to eye-witnesses, Pillai, a resident of Padanilam in Nooranad near Mavelikara, was about to finish a running test at the Recreation Grounds here when he collapsed. He died while being taken to the Alappuzha General Hospital. Pillai is survived by his wife and two sons, one of whom is with the Indian Army in Assam.
