Coordination by Technopark TePP Outreach Centre

T-TBI companies are also participating in the exhibition

Thiruvananthapuram: As many as 20 innovators from the outreach centres of the TePP (Technopreneur Promotion Programme) across the country will exhibit their prototypes at the ‘Pride of India Exhibition’ to be held on the Karyavattom campus of the University of Kerala as part of the 97th Indian Science Congress (ISC) beginning on Sunday.

The Technopark TePP Outreach Centre (T-TOC) is coordinating the participation of innovators at the five-day exhibition. The exhibition will focus on areas like automobile, medical electronics, Clean Technology, Green Energy, agriculture, Bio medical science, and embedded projects. The Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) is funding the participation of all the TePP Innovators at this event.

“The Technopark Technology Business Incubator (T-TBI) companies are also participating in the exhibition with their innovative products. This will provide very good visibility to Technopark and its new initiatives throughout the country,” said Technopark CEO, Mervin Alexander.

“This is a great opportunity for the Incubation and Innovation support wing of Technopark as it will get a leap by participating in India’s largest science exhibition,” said K.C.C. Nair, co-ordinator of the DSIR TePP programmes in Technopark.

TePP is an entrepreneur support mechanism initiated by the DSIR to tap the innovative potential of entrepreneurial citizens of India. The objective is to promote individual innovators through support mechanisms at various stages to become technology-based entrepreneurs (Technopreneurs). Technopark is one of the outreach centres of DSIR for selection and evaluation of genuine innovators and entrepreneurs in the country.

The Technopark TBI is supported by the Department of Science & Technology (DST) and the DSIR of the Government of India.

With the active support from these Government of India agencies, funding is made available for the young innovators at each stage of evolution of their idea, namely support for making prototypes of their products, product development and patenting and finally commercialisation of the idea. The facility is designed to help young talent to survive and grow during the critical start-up stage.
