New street light project
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: A new street lighting project involving installation of nearly 800 new street lights on GI octagonal poles similar to those being installed for the upcoming Commonwealth Games on the Capital’s major roads was launched by North Delhi Power Limited in its distribution network across North Delhi and North West Delhi on Saturday.
The project, which will cost Rs.4.34 crore, is expected to be completed in four to six months. Under it, modern street lights would be installed in sectors 2, 3 and 4 of Rohini. The project was launched by Delhi PWD Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan in the presence of senior NDPL officials.
An NDPL spokesperson said: “The new street light poles have a longer life; they are not prone to rusting and are aesthetically good.”
