Bid to target police fails

SRINAGAR: Hours after they targeted two Border Security Force personnel in the city, militants hurled a grenade at a police party at Lal Chowk here on Saturday, but it failed to go off.

The attempt to target the police came after the police and paramilitary forces intensified searches in the city since morning after an attack on two BSF men at Soura in the city.

The BSF personnel were injured when militants shot at them while they were drawing money from an ATM.

The injured are being treated. — PTI
