Ahamed will, on Monday, flag off the extended run of the tri-weekly Ernad Express between Kochuveli and Nagercoil. The train was only recently introduced between Kochuveli and Mangalore. At the function at Kochuveli at 10 a.m., the Minister will also inaugurate the computerised passenger reservation centre at the railway station there. ScheduleTrain no. 6606 Nagercoil-Mangalore Ernad Express will depart from Nagercoil junction at 2 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to reach Mangalore Central the same day at 5.35 p.m. The train will leave Neyattinkara at 2.57 a.m., Thiruvananthapuram Central at 3.45 a.m. and Kochuveli at 3.57 a.m. In the return direction, train no. 6605 Mangalore-Nagercoil Ernad Express will depart from Mangalore Central at 7.10 a.m. on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays to reach Nagercoil junction at 11.30 p.m. The train will leave Kochuveli at 9.30 p.m., Thiruvananthapuram Central at 9.50 p.m. and Neyattinkara at 10.13 p.m. The Railways said the regular service of the train would start from Mangalore on Thursday and from Nagercoil on Friday. Reservation centreThe computerised reservation centre at Kochuveli will especially benefit employees of Technopark companies and those living along the National Highway bypass and reduce the rush at the reservation centres at Pattom and Thampanoor to an extent. The passengers will also be able to book unreserved tickets here as the Unreserved Ticketing System is being installed. However, there will be only one counter at the centre for the time being owing to space constraints and shortage of reservation staff.
