NEW DELHI: Security agencies have been able to get an insight into the personal life of American terror suspect David Headley, with his estranged Moroccan wife telling investigators about connections he had in Mumbai. Faiza Outalha — who security agencies suspect carried out reconnaissance of certain installations that were targeted by the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists in Mumbai on November 26, 2008 — told the National Investigation Agency (NIA) that she was married to 48-year-old Headley but had a divorce later, official sources said. She flew to Mumbai from Karachi and crossed over the Wagah border into India the second time. Outalha arrived for the first time in 2007 and stayed with Headley at the Taj Mahal Hotel and later, the Oberoi-Trident. Both hotels were targeted on 26/11. She came to India again in May 2008 via Wagah and went to Manali, where she spent her holiday near a Jewish house, and later toured other parts of Shimla. Outalha claimed she divorced him as Headley was having relations with several women. She also told investigators about his relations with some upcoming Bollywood actors and prominent party-hoppers and socialites in Mumbai. Outalha informed the NIA that Headley’s activities in the hotel were suspicious and that both of them visited the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, one of the major targets. Another question bothering the NIA is how Outalha entered India through the Wagah border, which is exclusively meant for Indian or Pakistani nationals. — PTI
