CISF opens dog training centre

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Central Industrial Security Force Director-General Niraj Ranjan Das inaugurated a dog breeding and training centre in neighbouring Ghaziabad on Tuesday.

It is an initiative to cater to an increasing demand for sniffer dogs for its bomb detection squads at airports, metro railway stations and also for the upcoming Games.

Initially training will be imparted to 18 dogs by the CISF trainers with the help of experts from other para-military organisations. “The CISF has procured the best pedigree Labrador and Cocker Spaniel pups. The training will be imparted for eight month before they are deployed for active duties,” said a CISF officer.
