KURNOOL: Collector Mukesh Kumar Meena said the banks came forward to extend Rs. 100 crore to self-help groups affected in the flood. A total of 3,700 groups would be eligible for the assistance. Addressing a programme in connection with distribution of cheques to the members of the SHGs here on Tuesday, the Collector said a total of nine lakh people were affected by the flood in the district. The victims were being helped in different ways in order to bring them to back to normalcy. He complimented the bankers for their generous help to the flood victims including petty traders who lost every thing.
