BERHAMPUR: A three-day festival of spiritual music by the Sri Thyagaraja Bhakta Samithi was inaugurated at the Prakasham hall in the city on Tuesday. Devotees of the organisation took out a nagar kirtan with the portrait of the saint of Bhakti era in the morning. It was followed by performance of mass pancharatna kirtan. In the evening there were classical recitals of veena, violin and carnatic vocal music. The president of the organisation, D. Jayanti Rao and its secretary M.S. Prasad Rao said this festival was aimed at promoting classical devotional music among the young generation.
