THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The boat service for tourists in Thekkady will be resumed as soon as the fitness certificate of the boats is received. Kerala Tourism Development Corporation chairman Cheriyan Philip said here on Thursday that the experts of the Water Resources Department had inspected the boats of the KTDC and the Forest Department. The formalities as per the new rules of the government too had been completed. Life guards would be appointed by the Eco Development Council of the Forest Department. The capacity of the boats would be fixed and attention would be paid to driver licence, life jackets and insurance. — Special Correspondent
