Concern over legal issues

BANGALORE: Mr. Praneeth Perumal, the chairman of the FMSCI Rally Commission, shared the concern of motor racing buffs in the country that the INRC events getting embroiled in legal issues and races being decided by arbitration and not on the track.

“We share these concerns and we always believe that races should be won on tracks and not in courts and we at the FMSCI want to make sure that in 2010, unnecessary issues do not get referred for arbitration and stewards of the race have the authority to decide on their merits. We are looking at the rules closely and intend to fine tune them to avoid unnecessary disputes”, said Perumal.

Mr. Perumal said that the INRC’s new season is likely to get underway from March. — Special Correspondent
