NALGONDA: In a gruesome incident, a head constable allegedly set ablaze his wife over a domestic dispute in the town on Thursday. According to sources, N. Satyanarayana, 50, a head constable attached to the DCRB wing of the district police, insisted that his wife Padma, 45, go with him to Wadapalli to perform a ritual associated with the death of his mother who passed away recently. A heated argument ensued following which he allegedly set his wife on fire at his house, sources said. Padma was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital. Her condition was stated to be stable. However, Satyanarayana said that his wife had set herself ablaze owing to a domestic dispute.
