Letters to the Editor
The damage done to Reliance outlets across Andhra Pradesh following a report on a Telugu television channel alleging a high-level conspiracy behind Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s death in a helicopter crash on September 2, 2008 is condemnable. Action should be taken against the television channel for giving publicity to a dangerous and baseless theory put forward by a Russian website. It is time the Centre came out with stringent laws to discourage the media from indulging in sensationalism. M. Somasekhar Prasad, Badvel The mindless acts of vandalism were uncalled for. It is time the government reined in unethical media outlets and erring party workers. As it is, the unrest over the Telangana issue is affecting public life in Andhra Pradesh. Suddapalli Bhaskara Rao, Muscat There seems to be no end to the chaos and violence in Andhra Pradesh. The Telangana issue is still burning. The latest are acts of vandalism perpetrated by mobs over an alleged conspiracy behind YSR’s death. It is the common man who bears the brunt of all such mindless acts. P. Rajarajeswari, Coimbatore
