Decide on Dawood kin’s passport plea in two weeks: High Court

MUMBAI: The Bombay High Court on Friday asked the Ministry of External Affairs to take a decision within two weeks on the application for a new passport submitted by Iqbal Kaskar, younger brother of fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim.

Passport authorities denied Kaskar the fresh passport following his application last October, against which he had filed a petition in the High Court.

Jagdish Shetty, his lawyer, said the court on Friday asked the Ministry to take a decision on his application in two weeks.

Kaskar was deported in 2003 from Dubai and his passport was impounded.— PTI
