Polio drops to be given today

CHENNAI: The first round of the Pulse Polio Immunisation programme will be held on Sunday across Tamil Nadu. Children under five years will be administered polio drops, irrespective of previous immunisation status.

The State is establishing 40,399 immunisation booths in various government hospitals, health sub centres, primary health centres, noon meal centres and schools. Transit booths will be set up at railway stations, bus stands, airports, places of worship and tourist spots. Meticulous planning and mapping have been done to cover the migratory population. About 70 lakh children are expected to benefit.
